About the project edu⁴

The BiSE project edu⁴ – bridging boundaries – connecting learning cultures represents a cultural shift in teacher education. It is being funded for the full duration of the project (2016-2023) in the framework of the “Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung” programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Project goals

Establishment of the Binational School of Education
 

• Development of BiSE as a central, transnational institution for teacher education by optimizing organizational and work processes between actors and institutions involved in teacher education

Strengthening practical relevance in teacher education
 

• Development and new conceptualization of teaching methodology
• Development and expansion of educational sciences
• Networking of educational sciences, teaching methodology and individual disciplines
• Teaching and development of skills for dealing with heterogeneity and inclusion
• Establishment of the BiSE teaching lab

Qualitätssicherung
 

• Quality matrix with quality objectives, criteria and indicators for teacher education
• Study programme monitoring for teacher education programmes (Gymnasium)
• Evaluation of edu⁴ measures at structural, process and results levels
